I love painting “En Plein Air” or on-location drawing. In French it just means “outdoors”
.
To me it’s the best way to learn how to paint. So much of the time we don’t actually look at what we are drawing but rather how we think it looks in our heads.

Painting shadows is one of my favorite things and if you aren’t paying attention you might think shadows just look grey or a darker shade of the same color. But shadows are so blue and purple especially around sunset! A good reminder to look up there’s beauty all around us ☀️
