My name is Maddy and I’m a watercolorist, urban sketcher, and home illustrator. I grew up in New Mexico where I found my love of bright, bold color. The saturated blue and purple shadows of the desert landscape have inspired many of my paintings. I like to think wherever I go, I still paint like I’m in New Mexico.

I’m inspired by he simplicity of everyday life: The way my mom reads the paper in the morning, the dappled light between the branches of the trees, strangers in coffee shops that remind me I’m not alone.

Painting has always been a way to express my love for the present. To appreciate the here and now. To feel connected to the people around me. I love to paint these small moments. It reminds me to be present, that I belong here, and I deserve to take up space. I hope my art makes you feel that way too.
